Operating switching devices that disconnect power from equipment or reroute it to other circuits in response to signals from computers or dispatch operators
Monitoring equipment performance, such as voltage levels, current flow, and temperature levels, to ensure that they are within safe operating ranges
Maintaining records of work activities, including accident reports, repair schedules, and work orders
Checking meters to make sure they are accurate and recording any discrepancies
Following safety procedures at all times while working around high voltage electrical equipment
Operating switching devices such as contactors, circuit breakers, relays, and transformers to control the flow of electricity through power lines
Monitoring equipment operation to ensure that it is operating properly
Responding to emergencies such as natural disasters and fires by operating equipment that can restore power quickly
Reviewing maintenance requests from customers and following up to ensure that work is completed correctly
